Who is involved?
Over the last few years the number of people involved with the online community has grown to around 100. We are from all walks of life, from students through to university professors, singles, parents, scientists, engineers, drycleaners, physios, artists, business people, and adults at leisure.
We all have our own way of describing our hearing loss, common descriptions include:
* Hearing impaired
* Hard of hearing
* Implantee
* deaf
We also have a few people on the discussion with regular hearing. Generally, these people are known personally to those already in the group. On occasions we have also welcomed researchers and commercial interests online to stimulate discussion.
Really, there’s a Uni professor amongst us?
Apparently…. and people with “regular” hearing!
and what does ‘adults at leisure’ entail?
heh heh, ‘Adults at Leisure’ means they don’t always act like adults. Only when they feel like it, or after relaxing with a beer or two, then they get back into the ‘mature’ thing. At all other times, particularly during those times of stress, they act like children.
